The journal publishes problematic scientific articles and reports on the main areas of geological sciences: mineralogy, crystallography, geochemistry, petrography and the study of mineral deposits, as well as articles on the scientific achievements of Russian and foreign scientists, critical and bibliographic reviews, information on meetings, conferences and other significant events in the geological life of Russia and foreign countries. The publications widely cover issues of the genesis, properties and constitution of minerals, crystallomorphology, chemical features, conditions of formation and distribution of minerals, characteristic parageneses, mineral associations of rocks and ores, as well as problems of physicochemical analysis of natural processes of mineral formation. The journal publishes reports on new minerals, articles on the methods of mineralogical research.
